Being a girl of contrasts and contradictions, I thought it befitting that this post follow the previous one about warmer temps and flip flops. Two weeks later, it is currently snowing, and has been the whole day with no signs of stopping. Predictions are at 5-7 inches when it is all said and done. So I ran out to capture some of the blanketed charm of the day. The shots are taken from my iphone so the lighting isn't always great, but you get the idea. I wish I had thought to record audio at one point to demonstrate how confused nature must be right now. I closed my eyes to listen to the quiet, and in the distance I could hear birds chirping as on a spring day. Just has to make you smile!

Flip flops and tee-shirts two weeks ago, bundled and snow-capped today

Often thinks in song lyrics...
Where are you going?
Where do you go?
Tell me, where are you going?
Where?
Well, let's go

Red against the black and white

I took this in the morning before I knew that today, March 2nd, was Texas Independence Day...Yes, I have a Texas Lone Star affixed to the front of my house. All of a sudden, I have a hankerin' for a Shiner and some Zimmerhanzel's BBQ...

Not much for yard ornamentation except for my beloved dachshund statue

Simplicity

A golf birdhouse (screams spring) spired with a snow cathedral (contrast...)

Graceful, wavy black and white lines of a small tree

Blood red and white

Dark wood and pristine white - this was at about three inches of snow so far

I tried to capture the size of the flakes -they looked like half dollars floating from heaven

Contrast: Summer deck tables just waiting for alfresco dining.....piled with snow...

Loves how this is allllllllmost a black and white with the funny lighting thing the camera did with such a white background - makes the maroon really stand out.

Flip flops poised by the door from a few weeks ago and cold, wet scarf and hat from today.....beauty in contrasts.
