Okay, okay. So Magnanimous Mondays just sort of fizzled out. They were burned up in the flames of my personal inferno I endured back in the fall. Maybe they will re-occur. Who knows these days.
As I was piddling with my refrigerator magnets the other night, it dawned on me that random fridge poetry might make for interesting posts scattered throughout. So here is my first installment:
Keep in mind they are snippets of prose rather than full blown verse. Maybe I will challenge myself to create one that uses most of the words. Stay tuned. You just never know.

Weekend Players - Angel
Excellent 'chill' song to end the night. This might just be set on repeat...
Weekend Players - Into The Sun
Liking some Weekend Players.
That brief shot at 3:03-3:05 looks so much like the cliff in Nicaragua where I might get to one day call home!
Weekend Players - Jericho
Um, yes. This is very similar to Portishead's 'Glory box". This needs to be added to the 'Amore' playlist post haste.
Weekend Players Pursuit of Happiness
I am interested in tapping more into this group. Love the sound.
Where Few Dare to Tread
You are about to enter an 'unauthorized' area where few are EVER allowed to go. In doing so, understand that I am laying myself bare here. Why, you ask? In accordance with my overall personality, I am about as 'real' as they come. I won't 'put on airs' for anyone, and while I believe in putting one's best foot forward, very few have tolerance for 'over-the-top' perfection. I slew that dragon a long time ago. Now I am seeking balance.
As a related humorous insert, while on our short trip to the beach for Jeff's wedding, my Mom brought some pictures she had been meaning to give me and as she handed them to me she also added, "Oh! I found this article that I thought was so good and copied it for BOTH OF US!!! I brought you a copy!" It was entitled, "25 Ways to Organize and De-Clutter Your Home for the New Year". "So - what are you trying to say, Mom?" I found this more laughable because my parents' house is neat and tidy. A place for everything, and everything in its place. There are bins and labels everywhere. You could eat off of the basement floor. An article about organizing was for me and me alone. Gotta love it!
As with every summer, last summer rolled around, and with it the usual scrolling 'list' of ALL the grand projects I'd hoped to accomplish on the long and languid summer days that appear to stretch unending ahead. This was, of course, an illusion. Time seemed to melt away in the heat of day, and on top of that, last summer became the summer to 'be'. This was the message, loud and clear, that I kept getting from God. So I practiced the art of 'being', which is not easy for someone used to 'doing'. Constantly. Yet, in His infinite wisdom, there would have been no telling where I would have been had I exhausted large amounts of energy that summer before THE fall descended.
So I did not touch the clutter. I did not clear out or re-organize. I left everything and continued to live in a household of four people who may or may not put things back where they belong. As a result, hodgepodge happens. As a disclaimer, I am nowhere NEAR in need of an intervention by the producers of that unfortunate show "Hoarders", poor souls. I work to inspire everyone (including myself) to keep the main living areas neat, picked up and peaceful. We manage that for the most part, although that kitchen can explode into a conglomerate of dishes, containers, etc. before I can bat an eye. I would say I have 'hot spots' of muddle.
The bathroom drawer -ugh
Would this be the towel shelf? The hat storage? Or ugly fake tulip shelf?
Gave up trying to wear any of this 'bling"
Most loathsome of all my clutter demons - PAPER
I set out today to conquer the clutter and start making a dent in the areas that are in serious disarray. I have learned from my time in 'be' mode. I am grateful for the time I had to restore and invest in slowing down. Now I recognize there is beauty in balance, and believe that as I take these steps forward, I will find that I can downsize and simplify while enjoying moments that come my way.
I made strides today in dismantling, clearing out and organizing one small closet. I think this is key in overcoming procrastination and that overwhelming feeling of not knowing where to start. Start small. Start with an area that can easily be completed in a shorter span of time. The success and completion serve as motivation to keep going and move on to the next manageable task. Had I started with our basement (heaven help me) that would be the tragic end of any strides in getting anything else done.
Happily, here is a before and after:

Remember Magnanimous Mondays? I'd say this qualifies! Thank you for coming along on my little self-depreciating tour.
A Taunt, an Admonishment or a Challenge
"It is by sitting down to write every morning that he becomes a writer. Those who do not do this remain amateurs."
~Gerald Brenan
And so, what will I do about this? I have a few issues with this quote - albeit benign. Morning? Hardly. It is when twilight falls that words spark and clamor to be arranged. He? I know, I know. It was a common practice to use 'he' as a pronoun when a statement could include both male and female. This seems antiquated, particularly to one that happens to be a 'she'.
I do not want to remain an amateur, of this I am sure. Challenge taken. Blinking cursor and the blinding white 'page', it's on.

Inaugural Post
Oh yes...and so this is my first official post from the new laptop - it is silver, like my Durango...it needs a name.....
I would love to try and post one thing a day (or more if I am so inclined) for the summer...I kept it up fairly well with my 30 Things list.
And I ponder, will I write the next great novel from these very keys? Oh the possibilities.....
