So She Did

I did make it to this incredible glass chapel in northern Arkansas.

I didn't quite make the route I thought I would take.  Thanks to work obligations that kept me from leaving 4+ hours longer than intended, I had to make a more straight shot toward MO.  That took me to Memphis, and an interesting little rental downtown that made me pretend I was an apartment- dwelling city-girl, sitting in the window, looking out.

Inviting?

Definitely.

I would have loooooved to linger on the edge of DeGray Lake but would have extended my time on the road and I needed to get to MO, and to bff because -  girl time.  It was a great weekend of long talks (and OOOOHHH the talks!), more talking,  and movies that helped pry the weeping from the cages of our lungs when we desperately needed it.

For nostalgic trips back to our childhoods (thanks to the 70's Adventure Show),  and just 'being'.

I am made for the open sky and the stretch of endless road.  I am aching for this again.  I think that another road trip is in order.  I need to follow the hum and the lines.  I've had a 'fix'.  I'll need to satisfy this again very soon.

If You Love Me, Don't Let Go

Just watched 'Me Before You' last night.  Wow.  So many thoughts I would love to hash out with someone who's also seen it.  Great soundtrack, too, by the way.  I'd heard this song before but have fallen head over heels for it.

Speaking of soundtracks, I'm trying to put together a soundtrack of sorts to hit the road NEXT WEEK (!!!) to head up to see my bff and spend some time with her during my fall break.  Here's another song that crossed my path.

The plan is to head out on Wednesday after my noon prospective student meeting.  Cancel office hours because - fall break:  who is seriously going to want to come by and have a 'sit down' with their advisor when they could be getting outta dodge?  I still have grand designs to get up to the Thorncrown chapel - this is a must-see stop.  I'm looking at quite a long trek though, so will likely be stopping along the way - I need to locate my beloved atlas.  I aim to find a lovely place to plunk down my tent somewhere.  DeGray Lake looks beautiful.

All I'm thinking is that it has been a looooong time since I hit the road for some kind of adventure and this is just perfect.  I can't wait.  Four sleeps and then it's GO.
