So the last time I posted here, I had just recently hit the road for a mini road trip up to see my bff. There's a lot of water under the bridge from then till now.
Mostly just more of the same, you know? The same-o, same-o that can trap you into a web of mundane.
Then I was sent on yet another trail of health mysteries. Guess what - I AM NOT GIVING UP, NOT GOING DOWN WITHOUT THE FIGHT. Amazingly, all but one of those things have disappeared, come up nill. What's left is a bucket scraped dry, a storehouse hollowed empty - bottomed out cotisol and stage 3 adrenal fatigue. It won't get the last word. I keep getting up every day to kick that right in the teeth. I can't lay down and let it have me. I won't.
So onward.
I began the process of pursuing a business of my own by offering to do a wedding, full service for the experience and reference/review this past summer. The wedding was last weekend ..... the weekend of finals. The weekend after I was sent out of town for two days for work.
What was I thinking?
But it all worked out. Beautifully. Stories to tell for another time.
November 28th fires broke out in East Tennessee, particularly the Gatlinburg area. If I could have an alter location to the beach that brings peace to my bones, it is this little niche in the Smokies. I could tell stories of the healing that has taken place there. I go there at least 3 times a year. The night the fires broke out I couldn't breathe. Sleep came in fits and I would wake, surrounded by shrouded ash. My heart was compelled to DO SOMETHING. So my Dad and I worked to collect donations of things needed two weekends ago (same timeframe as approaching wedding and end-of-semester) and drove those up last Monday. I got to hug some of the most precious people. I plan to go back, and roll up my sleeves, and do what I can - because LOVE.
