Time - is it on our side?
Time is on our side... or is it?
We talk a lot about time - having no time, scheduling time, finding time......
And yet, we still come up short. What is our problem?
What is the big issue?
Time.
Do you believe this?
“Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.”
Or this?
“It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.”
“Time is the longest distance between two places.”
This?
Perhaps this -
“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.”
I don't know. I teeter between many thoughts.
Time.
Lately, I am looking for time. Searching for it. Crawling to uncover it -wherever it may be.
Time.
Time to sit still and think a complete, connected thought.
Time.
Time to gaze on whatever I find beautiful at the moment.
Time.
Time to kiss long. And slow. And purposeful.
These times are few and far between.
Who decided that a peck on the way out the door was good and glorious? Can we talk? It's not.
End of story.
Time to think. Think fully and deeply and wildly about what is to come, and
remember what has been full and deep and wild.
Time goes so quickly that I can not keep up, most days, and then -
days feel so slow and long that I can hardly breathe under the weight of that time.
I often go back to 'times'.
Times when I was able to be wide open.
Times when existing was stripped down to the least complicated denominator.
Time when the sunset and the company was rich and the expectations were low.
Time when light swallowed what was felt most, and darkness brought sleeping things alive.
Time.
What are you doing with yours?
